About this file

This document is a brand name justification for a federal contract opportunity with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The justification is for the procurement of medical surgical supplies including 2,500 units of RESERVOIR, OMNIPOD DASH to be delivered within 10 days of order receipt. The contracting office is the National CMOP Contracting Office and the justification invokes FAR 13.5 for simplified procedures for commercial items due to there only being one responsible source for the prescribed brand name supplies. Market research found no existing Federal Supply Schedule contracts and an inability to set aside for small businesses due to non-manufacturer rules and insufficient time to request a waiver. The justification was approved by a contracting officer and division chief.
