2. Brief Description of Supplies/ Services required and the intended use/Estimated Amount:
Jesse Brown VA Medical Center located in Chicago, Illinois has a brand name FAAC Incorporated only MILO Range Pro requirement that will be utilized by VA Police for in‐house firearm training.
Estimated Amount: $X.XX
3. Unique characteristics that limit availability to only one source, with the reason no other supplies or services can be used:
The Milo Range Pro Interactive Firearms and Force Options Simulator will allow for Use of Force training to be conducted in‐house. This includes both non‐firearm and firearm deployment training.
In order to allow staff to train in‐house (reducing cost and increasing frequency of training) Jesse Brown VA Police will need to acquire a new simulator system that provides realistic, adaptable training environment in a single ready‐to‐go package that can be used anywhere on campus.
Furthermore, the technology will provide over 850 plus scenarios that are preloaded for training that aligns with VA Police drill and exercises. While there are other simulators on the market, none provide the specific benefits that make this uniquely qualified to fits the needs of a smaller but expanding agency like Jesse Brown VA Police Department. Competing products often run over $150K and are more complex, often requiring a full‐time dedicated training staff to operate them. It is vital that VA Law Enforcement stays trained up to applicable OS&LE standards and utilize video playback to critique law enforcement performance.
