For the purposes of the award of this Contract, The Government intends to evaluate the option to extend services under FAR 52.217-8 as follows: The evaluation will consider the possibility that the option can be exercised at any time and can be exercised in increments of one to six months, but not for more than a total of six months during the life of the contract. The evaluation will therefore assume that the addition of the price or prices of any possible extension or extensions under FAR 52.217-8 to the total price for the basic requirement and the total price for the priced options has the same effect on the total price of all proposals relative to each other and will not affect the ranking of proposals based on price, unless, after reviewing the proposals, the Government determines that there is a basis for finding otherwise. B.3 STATEMENT OF WORK

Guldmann & Amico Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift System Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS)
400 Veterans Avenue (Engineering Service) Biloxi, MS 39531

2. GENERAL: This is a non-personnel services requirement. The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, labor, transportation, related accommodations associated with travel to/from performance locations, tools, materials, parts, and other items necessary to perform work, execute services, and to successfully complete all deliverables as contained within this Statement of Work. The Government shall not exercise any supervision and/or control over contractor personnel (which includes contractor service providers, contractor representatives, and/or subcontractors employed with (and/or being utilized by the prime contractor) during all active performance periods of the final contract. All contractor personnel shall be accountable solely to the Contractor, who in turn is responsible to the Government.
3. BACKGROUND: Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift Systems are integral devices often used by patient care providers for the delivery of patient care in a medical facility. Generally speaking, Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift Systems are medical devices that are used to assist individuals with limited mobility to transfer these individuals into and between different positions. Such systems are an important tool for caregivers and healthcare professionals, as they enable such providers to provide safe and efficient patient handling while simultaneously reducing the risk of injury to both the patient and the caregiver alike. Utilization of a Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift System has been shown to be an ideal and an effective way to lift and to move people (needing assistance). Use of such equipment (at ceiling height) frees up floor space and makes it much easier for providers to conduct (patient care) operations in the area where these systems are located. Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift Systems allow providers to carry out day-to-day patient handling, lifting, and moving tasks without assistance, freeing up more time for the provider to care for individual patients.
4. DESCRIPTION: The Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift System currently being utilized by Gulf Coast Veterans
Health Care System (GCVHCS) consists of multiple Guldmann model GH2, GH2+2, GH3, and GH3+ modules (to include rails, tracks, mounts, bars, related components, and other accessories) and two (2) Amico GOLIFT lifts that comprise the facility’s overall Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift System. This Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift System is currently being used at multiple locations within the footprint of the GCVHCS. Please refer to the document entitled “Addendum Patient Lifts Inventory and Location Listing” for a detailed description of the equipment items (and related accessories & components) that require service which includes their respective locations.
5. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The Annual Inspection, Weight Testing, Maintenance, & Certification for the
(facility wide) Guldmann & Amico Patient Overhead Ceiling Lift System described herein includes but is not limited to accomplishment, performance, and/or completion of the following tasks. This section is not an all-inclusive list of what may be required to meet service requirements. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to assess what is needed regarding the inspection, testing, maintenance, and certification that is required to be in accordance with OEM guidelines and other applicable regulations, policies, standards, published guidance, and other requirements which are included in (or which are otherwise governed by) this acquisition.

If the installation does not have the label, use the hoist capacity and the distance between supports as a guide and perform a weight test with a weight equivalent to 1.5 the selected max capacity for 5 minutes at each bracket locating the weight as close as possible to the bracket. If there is a combi-lock, switch track or turn-table in the installation, it should be considered as connecting to a second system and must be test accordingly.

• Perform a full lifting cycle with the rated load of the hoist and listen any abnormal sounds from the hoist and that the hoist can lift the load without any problem. This is, going up all the way until the hoist stops by the end stop switch and going down until the hoist stops by the end stop down. While going up pull the string for the emergency stop and make sure the hoist stops. Do the same in the down direction.
