Special Notice – Sole-Source Acquisition
This is a Special Notice announcing the Department of Veterans Affairs' intent to sole-source a service contract with Canon Medical Systems USA, INC. for preventative maintenance and emergency repair services on one Toshiba/Canon Aquilion One Genesis 640 CT unit located at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, Illinois. The contract will be for a base period plus 4 years, with Solicitation Number 36C25226Q0645. The Government justifies the sole-source approach under 41 U.S.C. § 3304(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), citing that Canon Aquilion One Genesis machines require proprietary technician training, parts, and software that only Canon Medical Systems USA, INC. is authorized to provide in the United States, making this the only source capable of satisfying the Government's requirements.
The response deadline for interested parties to identify their capability and interest in fulfilling this requirement is July 31, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Central Time. Responses must be submitted by email to Contract Specialist Sylvia Iloh at Sylvia.Iloh@va.gov. The Government's contracting office is located at 115 South 84th Street, Suite 101, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53214-1476. This notice is informational only and not a request for competitive quotes or proposals; however, all communications received by the deadline will be evaluated to determine whether competitive procurement is warranted. The product service code is J065, NAICS code is 811210, and the notice will be archived five days after the response date.
