About this file
This document is a comprehensive project manual for the City of Cheyenne's Ice Slicer Building construction project, prepared by Plan One/Architects. The project involves demolishing the existing building's fabric cover and steel truss and column frame while preserving the concrete stem wall footings and concrete slab. A new steel building frame will be installed within the existing building footprint, utilizing new footings, tie beams, and pilasters that will be saw cut and anchored to the existing concrete infrastructure. The new structure will feature Z-girt purlins and be covered with an exposed fastener pre-finished siding and roof system. The project manual is dated May 21, 2025, and includes detailed specifications across multiple divisions such as general requirements, existing conditions, concrete, metals, wood, thermal and moisture protection, doors and windows, finishes, and special construction.
The project manual provides extensive technical details about materials, installation requirements, performance standards, and construction methods. It includes specifications for structural steel framing, metal roof and wall panels, accessories, and other building components. The documents outline precise requirements for fabrication, installation, tolerances, and quality control, with specific attention to performance metrics like wind resistance, thermal movement, and weathertightness. An alternate bid option is included for translucent panels, allowing flexibility in design. The specifications also cover important aspects such as warranty provisions, with some components like metal panel finishes having up to 25-year warranties. The project appears to be fully funded and is part of the City of Cheyenne's infrastructure improvement efforts, with a focus on durability, performance, and long-term functionality of the new Ice Slicer Building.
