SOLICITATION RUAS-08-00165(B)

PORTRAT FOR CURRENT SECRETARY

SEPTEMBER 14, 2008

QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES

Question 1: Size: 40" x 50" for the painting (canvas) with a frame 6-10" wide. Is that what is meant? Or, overall size is 40" x 50" with the actual size of the painting (canvas) around 20"x 30". Which would be the actual size of the painting (canvas)?

Government Response 1: The overall size of the portrait, including the frame and canvas, shall be 40” x 50”. The canvas size shall approximately be 20” x 30”.

Question 2: The time/price for doing head and shoulders is very different from the time/price of doing a 3/4 view of the body. Would you like a list of options (A., B,. C,. etc) for the prices of doing various body lengths with more and less detail in the background, etc? Or, as in 52.212-1 (e) Multiple offers. "Offerors are encouraged to submit multiple offers presenting alternative terms and conditions..." Does this mean you would like separate offers for the various scenarios?

Government Response 2: The portrait style will not be decided until after award of the purchase order. The Offeror shall submit one firm-fixed price based on the assumption that any of the four typical portrait styles (full length, three quarter length, half figure, or head and shoulders) may be chosen after award.

Question 3: Gold Leaf - do you mean real gold leaf or painted to look like gold leaf?

Government Response 3: The portrait frame shall be painted to look like gold leaf.

Question 4: Can we assume that the Attachment A - Statement of work/clauses applies to both Portraits A & B in all of the details?

Government Response 4: Attachment A for RUAS-08-00165(A) and RUAS-08- 00165(B) are similar but not exact. For example, RUAS-08-00165(A) references the “current secretary” while RUAS-08-00165(B) references the “former secretary.”

Question 5: Would you like the Proposal in PDF form to be sent to you via email at this email address?

Government Response 5: See section xvi in the combined synopsis/solicitation.
