About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) under the Administration for Strategic Preparedness & Response (ASPR) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The RFI seeks information on high-performance antigen diagnostic technologies suitable for near-patient settings such as point-of-care and at-home testing. BARDA is interested in identifying currently available systems and emerging technologies that can achieve nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) levels of clinical performance, specifically limits of detection of ~1-10 pg/mL or better, while addressing the limitations of conventional immunoassays regarding sensitivity and multiplexing capability. Key areas of interest include high-sensitivity immunoassay platforms adapted for point-of-care or at-home use; next-generation detection technologies enabling ultra-low limits of detection and high multiplexing (GFETs, arrays, emulsions, single-molecule detection); miniaturization and system integration strategies; continuous or near-continuous monitoring approaches including wearable devices; and sample processing and concentration methods for improved recovery of low-abundance antigens. Responses must be submitted by email to rrpv@ati.org no later than 1pm EDT on July 17, 2026. This RFI is for information gathering purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to issue a future solicitation, make awards, or pay costs. Respondents need not be RRPV consortium members to submit responses to this RFI, though consortium membership will be required for any subsequent Request for Project Proposals. Responses should include a cover page with administrative and contact information and a technical response (PDF or Word format, minimum 10-point font) not exceeding five pages, comprising an executive summary (≤0.5 page), technical overview (≤4 pages), and capabilities and infrastructure description (≤0.5 page). All proprietary information and copyrighted materials must be clearly marked with appropriate restrictive legends, and no classified information should be submitted.
