About this file
This is Addendum #2 to RFP RP008-25 for a Youth-Led Kingian Nonviolence Training Initiative issued by the City in partnership with Gwinnett County Public Schools. The training program is designed as a pilot initiative to introduce Kingian Nonviolence methodology to youth council members, with the training delivery anticipated on Friday, September 19, during the school district's Digital Learning Day. The training will be conducted as a single 8-hour in-person session. Consultants are expected to provide one hour of monthly consultation and coaching to support the youth council following the initial training. The program will employ a student-driven approach similar to the Peace Warrior Program model, which has proven effective in Chicago contexts, with youth members leading solution development rather than the consultant directing outcomes. Acknowledgment of this addendum in the bid submission is mandatory; failure to do so may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive.
This initiative is structured as a program pilot with the potential for broader institutionalization within City youth programs, contingent upon demonstrated impact data. Continued funding beyond the pilot phase has not been committed. The program design emphasizes that any activation or outcomes must be primarily student-driven, allowing the youth council to determine what solutions and actions emerge from the training. The consultant's role focuses on facilitation, coaching, and support rather than directing program outcomes.

ADDENDUM #2
RP008-25
Youth-Led Kingian Nonviolence Training Initiative
Please see the questions and answers below:
Q. Is this training intended as a pilot for broader institutionalization of Kingian Nonviolence in City youth programs, or is it a standalone initiative?
A. Yes, the desire is for this to be a program pilot. However, continued funding has not been committed. To see this program expand from its nascent phase will require impact data.
Q. Does the City anticipate any formal post-training deliverables or activation from Youth Council members that the consultant should support?
A. As shared in the RFP, and hour of monthly consultation/coaching is expected. Any activation must be primarily driven by the students and it remains to be seen what solutions they might propose.
Q. Are there any previous training models or formats the City prefers to replicate or avoid?
A. The Peace Warrior Program is a model that has proven effective in the Chicago context. A similar student-driven approach is desired.
Q. What is the anticipated start date for the training program A. The training is anticipated during Gwinnett County Public Schools' Digital Learning Day (Friday, Sept 19).
Q. What is the maximum number of hours per day and per week allocated for delivering the in-person training sessions?
A. Based on prior expectations of Kinginan Nonviolence Training, this is anticipated to be an 8-hour training day.
This addendum should be acknowledged in your bid. Failure to do so may result in your bid being deemed non-responsive.
