About this file
This document is an addendum to a roof repair and replacement contract opportunity for multiple government buildings in Troup County, Georgia. The addendum addresses several questions from potential bidders, including the availability of core samples, background check requirements, existing roof deck types, insurance status, and the scope of work for specific buildings. The contract opportunity requires a mandatory pre-bid meeting on April 12, 2022, at 2 PM at City Hall in LaGrange, Georgia.
The addendum clarifies that the winning bidder(s) will have an opportunity to inspect and confirm the scope of work after the award. It also notes that the utility building's skylight repair is the only work requested for that building, and a different type of coating may be more appropriate for that roof. Bidders are instructed to hand-deliver their proposals at the pre-bid meeting on April 22nd.

ADDENDUM 1
Will core samples be made available?
For these roofs, contractors should follow the scope as closely as possible. The winning bidder(s) can perform more testing after the award. This will avoid numerous core samples being taken.
We were told background checks for all crew members were required on this project. Is this only for the Police Station or all four buildings?
No, only the police building will require background checks.
What are the existing deck types for each building and the pitch?
Follow the provided scope as closely as possible. The winning bidder(s) will have an opportunity to inspect and confirm the scope.
Are any of these buildings FM-insured None of these buildings are FM insured.
For the school buildings that have a metal roof, will they be replaced or repaired?
Based on inspection, it appears these roofs can be repaired.
For the utility building, is the skylight being repaired by replacing the entire skylight with the dome or only by replacing the flashing around the existing curve without replacing the skylight itself?
This is a non-typical situation. It appears that an old skylight was covered by some type membrane material. The winning contractor will need to provide a quote to address the damage.
Regarding the utility building front roof, is the only work being requested the skylight repair, or is a full roof replacement also being requested?
Skylight repair only. The front section of the roof is gravel finish and does not appear to be damaged by hail.
Regarding submitting the proposal is mail an acceptable form of submission and number of copies of the proposal?
Please hand deliver your bids at the meeting on Monday the 22nd Can you define elastomeric?
For this particular roof, the utility services roof, a different type of coating might be more appropriate. Please quote this particular roof with what your best solution is and we will examine the best option after the bids are submitted.
