About this file
This is a Request for Information (ROI) issued by the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) dated May 13, 2026, regarding sinkhole remediation work on the Norristown High Speed Line (NHSL). The project involves drilling and pumping limited mobility grout to prevent further surface subsidence of railroad tracks in an area with karst topography near Lane Enterprises, where similar grouting work was previously conducted in 2022. The scope of work includes surveying and laying out drill hole locations, drilling pipe into soil/rock and injecting grout material, movement monitoring of tracks and surrounding infrastructure, track protection from equipment damage, site cleanup and restoration, and RWP (Roadway Worker Protection) training for untrained personnel or those with lapsed certifications. Interested contractors are requested to notify Michael Piselli to attend a meeting on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the SEPTA Substation near Hughes Park (coordinates: 40.085561, -75.352290), with the actual work location at approximate coordinates 40.087987, -75.352999. The work schedule is to be determined but will involve weekdays and potential weekends in 2026.
By participating in this ROI, contractors unconditionally agree that SEPTA may use, modify, and publish any information or materials submitted without obligation to engage or compensate contractors in any manner. The ROI specifies that surveying of track elevations must occur at the beginning and end of each pumping shift to ensure track stability, as referenced in Specification Section 02346 3.07 for Movement Monitoring. This letter does not constitute a contract award or commitment to reimburse for preparation or participation costs. Contact for the opportunity is Michael Piselli, Manager of Contract Administration in SEPTA's Procurement & Supply Chain Management, reachable at 215-580-8364 or mpiselli@septa.org.
