About this file

This document is a Question and Response document related to RFR 248431 Medical instruments and implants, a Request for Response (RFR) issued by the state of Massachusetts. The RFR is for a new contract, not an amendment, and the end date can be the end of the initial period or the life of the RFR. The required submission includes forms, though the specific forms are not detailed. The RFR has a "Rolling" opening date, meaning vendors can be added throughout the life of the RFR, with the end date and bid open date being the same. This RFR is a replacement for a previous RFR (173224) for Instruments and Implants.

Regarding pricing, vendors are instructed to respond to the RFR to provide a price list. There is no indication of any set asides, incumbents, or funding requirements and sources in the provided information.

Question/Responses

Question:

Can you please clarify the following:

1. does this need to be a new contract, or can it be an amendment?

2. Do you have a preferred end date for the amendment or new contract?

3. What forms are required for submission at this time?

Response:

1. Yes, this is a new contract.

2. The end date can be the end of the initial period or the life of the RFR.

3. Required submission – see highlighted snip below.

Question:

Can you please confirm this is not a typo, effective date is 2/15/2024, but the RFR has an opening date of 6/29/2031. What is the actual opening date?

Response:

This is not a typo, this RFR is ‘Rolling’ which means vendors can be added throughout the life of the RFR. Therefore, the End date & Bid Open date are the same.

Question:

Have you done a bid like this before solely for instruments and how has it worked in the past, or is this a new bid?

Response:

This is a replacement RFR for Instruments and Implants (replaces 173224).

Question:

How would I provide a price list?

Response:

Respond to this RFR.
