About this file
This solicitation requests quotes for a one-year service agreement for two BD Biosciences S6 Sorters and various lasers located at the Vaccine Research Center of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The service agreement must include preventative maintenance inspections, maintenance kits, software revisions, unlimited service visits and telephone support from June 2024 to May 2025. Quotes must include a direct contract with BD Biosciences to provide a 48-hour emergency response time guaranteed to be equal to that of a direct BD contract. The decontamination process for this BSL-3 equipment may shorten part lifespans, so quotes should account for potential increased repairs and replacements. Quotes are due by March 17, 2024 and award will be made based on technical capability to meet requirements and price to the responsible contractor.

The purpose of this acquisition is to provide a service agreement for three (3) S6 SortersFlow (serial #H66293700027, #H6629370028, and various lasers that will maintain the equipment in optimal operating condition. These machines are constantly in use throughout the day and if it were put out of action due to lack of maintenance or mechanical failure the ability of the investigators in the VRC to conduct their research would be severely handicapped. It is for this reason that a Service Agreement is essential.
B. CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
a) The Contractor shall provide service coverage for the BD S6 SortersFlow that includes the following:

Equipment is housed in a BSL-3 facility and as such equipment is routinely decontaminated and is decontaminated after spills, splashes, or other potential contamination and before repair, maintenance, or removal from the laboratory. In general, BSL-3 and BSL-4 laboratory areas are decontaminated by exposure to paraformaldehyde followed by ammonium bicarbonate neutralization. This process may shorten the normal lifespan of equipment and accessories. Extra-time and parts are expected, please quote accordingly.
*Note: A priority status is required for this service agreement and as priority status is only available with a direct contract with BD Biosciences, quotes submitted by third-party vendors must also include a direct contract with BD Biosciences to be considered.
