STATEMENT OF WORK

2/2/2024

1) BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Research and Technologies Section (RTS), Electron Microscopy Unit (EMU), supports all of the National Institute of Allergy & Infectious Diseases (NIAID) intramural Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) and Bethesda, Maryland area labs using various microscopy methods. The RTS requires a service agreement that will allow for the continuous use of two Gatan cameras installed on Krios G1 Krios G4 microscope located at RML, and support functions that it provides customers that use the EMU. These instruments require professional service from Gatan certified and experienced service engineers who maintain the instruments in optimal condition for research. Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts made and certified by Gatan are required to keep the cameras running at optimum level.

These Gatan cameras are in continuous use. If they were put out of action due to lack of maintenance or mechanical failure, the ability of the investigators to conduct their research would be severely handicapped. It is for this reason that a Service Agreement is essential.
