Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement Request for Supplies Droplet Measurement Technologies PAX: Photoacoustic Extinctiometer

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, intends to award a sole source, fixed-price purchase order to Droplet Measurement Technologies for the PAX – Photoacoustic Extinctiometer instruments. Droplet Measurement Technologies is the only vendor capable of providing these products. The estimated value of this procurement is approximately $94,300.00.

This purchase is needed for achieving measurements being undertaken under ACE Task 212. The PAX: Photoacoustic Extinctiometer (405 nm) and (375 nm) will allow real time measurements of the radiative extinction of ambient and chamber-generated aerosol of proposed importance for the radiative properties of secondary organic aerosol at the wavelengths of 405 nm and 375 nm. These instruments will serve as major measuring devices for the ACE CIVA-1 project. The combination of the two instruments at different wavelengths will provide a powerful measurement system for brown carbon.

Description Item No. AAA-0118, PAX: Photoacoustic Extinctiometer, Option 3: 2 of 3 PAX (405 nm) Item No. AAA-0118, PAX: Photoacoustic Extinctiometer, Option 3: 1 of 3 PAX (375 nm)
