STATEMENT OF WORK
B&F PROJECTS 6B5B
INSTALL NEW WATER HEATERS
I. SPECIFICATIONS
A. SCOPE OF WORK
To replace existing gas fired water heaters and install two brand new 500 gallon, 1.0 million BTU gas‐fired water heaters;
and one 300 gallon, 600,000 BTU gas‐fired water heater located in the Powerhouse at the Federal Detention Center, 351 Elliott Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96819. This is a supply purchase only, as the labor will be provided by Bureau of Prisons (BOP) staff.
1. The Vendor shall supply two 500 gallon, 1.0 million BTU gas‐fired water heaters; and one 300 gallon, 600,000 BTU gas‐fired water heater located at the FDC Honolulu, Federal Bureau of Prison. Two 500 gallon, 1.0 million BTU gas‐fired water heaters, must fit on a concrete pad (5 ½ foot wide x 10 foot 6 inch’s length x 7 foot height). One 300 gallon, 600,000 BTU gas‐fired water heater must fit on a concrete pad (4 foot wide x 4 foot, 9 ½ inches length x 5 feet, 11 inches height). In addition to the concrete pad, all gas‐fired water heaters must fit through a door opening of (6 feet wide x 8 feet height).
2. Currently FDC Honolulu has two (PVI Turbo Power Gas Packaged Water Heaters 1250 N 500A‐TP) 500 gallon, 1.0 million BTU; and one (PVI Turbo Power Gas Packaged Water Heaters 750 N 300A‐TP) 300 gallon, 600,000 BTU gas‐fired water. This is a supply purchase only.
B. OPERATION SPECIFICATIONS
WATER HEATER SPECIFICATIONS:
1. All water heaters tanks must be rated for 150 PSI.
2. Two of the water heaters must be 500 gallons or more and at least 1.0 million BTU’s due to the existing exhaust flue and two of the water heaters and tanks must fit within the existing concrete pad (5 ½ foot wide x 10 foot, 6 inch’s length x 7 foot height).
3. One of the water heaters must be 300 gallons or more and 600,000 BTU’s due to the existing exhaust flue and the water heater and tank must fit within the existing concrete pad (4 foot wide x 4 foot, 9 ½ inches length x 5 foot, 11 inches height).
4. This project shall comply with all appropriate state and federal codes, including the latest editions for the Uniform Building Code, The National Plumbing Code, NFPA, Life Safety Code, OSHA, American Correctional Association Standards, and all other applicable codes and laws.
C. FEDERAL DETENTION CENTER, HONOLULU RESPONSIBILITIES
2. Facilities Department shall be responsible to remove all debris and waste materials from the job site located at the Federal Detention Center, 351 Elliott St, Honolulu, HI 96819. These items must be disposed of in accordance with all
Federal, State, and local laws.
D. VENDOR’S RESPONSIBILITIES
1. The vendor price must include shipping to FDC Honolulu’s warehouse.
2. The vendor shall provide all related materials included in the equipment for proper installation.
3. The vendor shall provide ample notice of the delivery of the equipment.
E. SUBMITTALS
1. Product Data: Submit five (5) copies of product literature/data and installation instructions for approval by the
FBOP.
2. Samples: Submit three (3) samples of specified and approved system. Samples shall be construed as examples of installed equipment only.
3. Warranty: Submit two (2) copies of manufacturer's Limited Material Warranty to cover a period of one year.
II. CONTRACTOR SECURITY/WORKING REGULATIONS
A. DELIVERY OF MATERIALS
2. All deliveries which are directly shipped from the vendor can be received between the hours of 7:30 AM ‐ 1:00 PM, Monday ‐ Friday, excluding federal holidays.
B. OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
1. The contractor shall honor all Manufacturer warranties upon completion of the project.
