About this file

This document is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Architectural and Engineering Services for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to design three new detention centers. One facility will be a renovation, while the other two will involve demolition and new construction. The minimum number of beds to be added per location is 60. The current funding plan is $30 million per facility. No preliminary programming or design work has been completed, and the state has not identified the specific sites for the West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale detention centers, but has provided the addresses. The project will use DMS Standards for construction and design, and one firm will be selected to work on all three projects.

The RFQ does not provide any details on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding sources, or other salient financial information. The document states that failure to file a protest within the time prescribed in Section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes, or failure to post the required bond will constitute a waiver of proceedings under Chapter 120.
