PART THREE - EXECUTION
3.01 GENERAL:
A. Perform entire work of this Section in accordance with the best standards of practice relating to trades involved.
Follow all applicable regulations, safety standards, and codes. When a conflict exists, the more restrictive document shall govern.
Comply with roof panel fabricator's and material manufacturer's instructions and recommendations for installation as applicable to project conditions and supporting substrates. Anchor panels and other components of the work securely in place, with provisions for thermal/structural movement.
Fabricate sheet metal roofing panels to allow for expansion in running work sufficient to prevent leakage, damage, and deterioration of the Work. Form exposed sheet metal work to fit substrates without excessive oil canning, buckling, and tool marks, true to line and levels indicated, and with exposed edges folded back to form hems.
Form and fabricate sheets, seams, strips, cleats, edge treatments, integral flashing, and other components of metal roofing to profiles, patterns, and drainage arrangements shown and as required to resist Water Infiltration without excessive use of sealants (dry joints) while also allowing any water infiltration behind the roof panels to weep out.
Install work to be truly straight and square or conform to curvilinear geometry indicated on drawings.
1.
B.
C.
D.
E.
1. Fabricate and install work with lines and corners of exposed units true and accurate.
2. Form exposed faces free of buckles, excessive waves, and avoidable tool marks considering temper and reflectivity of metal.
Shim and align panel units within installed tolerance of 6 mm (1/4-inch) in 6 m (20 feet).
All seams shall be of uniform appearance and dimensions, straight andlevel with minimum exposure of solder and sealant.
Except as otherwise shown, fold back sheet metal to form a hem on concealed side of exposed edges.
Form all seams to be weatherproof, leaving room for expansion and contraction with specified and required tolerances.
Comply with manufacturer's installation instructions and SMACNAArchitectural Sheet Metal Manual for flashings and sheet metal work.
Conceal fasteners and expansion provision where possible in exposed work, and locate so as to minimize possibility of leakage. Cover and seal fasteners and anchors as required for a tight installation.
To avoid material tearing, provide cuts with rounded notching tool or cut to pre-drilled hole. Only use smooth edge (non-serrated) shears and snips for cutting.
Provide indirect attachment of exposed with concealed "keeper" whenever possible.
Avoid exposed and direct fastening especially at lap locations to allow movement.

The Contractor shall, within 30 days after award, prepare and submit to the Contracting Officer for approval a practicable schedule showing the order in which the Contractor proposes to perform the work, and the dates on which the
Contractor contemplates starting and completing the several salient features of the work (including acquiring materials, plant, and equipment). The schedule shall be in the form of a progress chart of suitable scale to indicate appropriately the percentage of work scheduled for completion by any given date during the period, if the Contractor fails to submit a schedule within the time prescribed, the Contracting Officer may withhold approval of progress payments until the Contractor submits the required schedule.
The Contractor shall prepare a monthly progress report, along with the monthly invoice, summing up observations resulting from the inspections, progress, difficulties or irregularities encountered, resolution of problems, measures taken to improve conditions, recommendations, and other matters related to this contract. The monthly progress reports shall include an annotated schedule showing actual progress of the work.
If, in the opinion of the Contracting Officer, the Contractor falls behind the approved schedule, the Contractor shall take steps necessary to improve its progress, including those that may be required by the Contracting Officer, without additional cost to the Government. In this circumstance, the Contracting
Officer may require the Contractor to increase the number of shifts, overtime operations, days of work, and/or the amount of construction plant, and to subnr it for approval any supplementary schedule or schedules in chart form as the Contracting Officer deems necessary to demonstrate how the approved rate of progress will be regained.
Failure of the Contractor to comply with the requirements of the Contracting
Officer under this clause shall be grounds for a determination by the Contracting

However, no adjustment shall be made under this clause for any suspension, delay, or interruption to the extent that performance would have been so suspended, delayed, or interrupted by any other cause, including the fault or negligence of the Contractor, or for which an equitable adjustment is provided for or excluded under any other term or condition of this contract.
A claim under this clause shall not be allowed -
