About this file

This document is a response to questions regarding Request for Quotation (RFQ) #24-0809 for Seismic Monitoring Equipment issued by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). The RFQ is for the purchase of seismic monitoring equipment to be used for the California State Water Project and/or California Earthquake Early Warning System. The RFQ includes items such as +/-4g sensors, 1000-ft 1/8" stainless steel wire spools, and bullet-style GPS antennas. DWR has confirmed that a +/-4g sensor is acceptable, the wire spool is for raw material only, and a GPS antenna cable is not required. The RFQ specifies quantities of 10 downhole accelerometers and 9 additional accelerometers. DWR has stated that the quantities listed are correct and not a typo.

Regarding pricing and other terms, the document does not provide details on pricing, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or contract duration. The focus is on responding to specific technical questions about the equipment specifications and requirements outlined in the RFQ.

DWR Response to Questions

RFQ # 24-0809 for Seismic Monitoring Equipment

August 27, 2024

Department of Water Resources (DWR) has provided the following responses to questions in regard to RFQ 10193219 for FMEP BI/CMR Implementation - PPM.

1. Is it acceptable to provide a +/-4g sensors instead of +/-3g?

Answer: Yes, a +/-4g sensor is acceptable.

2. On Page 2, Item # 18, DWR has identified a 1000-ft 1/8” Stainless Steel Wire Spool. Is there a plan in place for cable strain relief and to terminate connections to the downhole accelerometer and at the surface? Of does DWR only want the raw material wire?

Answer: DWR only requires the raw material wire.

3. On Page 2, Item # 19, DWR has identified a Bullet-style GPS Antenna with Threaded Neill-Concelman (TNC) Connector. Is a cable required? If so what length?

Answer: No, a GPS Antenna cable is not required.

4. We are meant to upload all manuals in the submission process, but our manuals are large files. Is it possible to send separate emails if needed?

Answer: Yes.

5. Is there a mistake on the quantity of downhole accelerometers ? Line items 12- 15 is total 10. While item 16 is total 9. Please confirm that it is not a typo.

Answer: The quantities are listed correctly on the RFQ. It is not a typo.
