About this file

The documents are standard material specifications for the Iowa Department of Transportation's project 645-RFQ-2214-2026, specifically for the Dubuque District Location (DL) Exterior Exit and Interior Painting project. The project involves comprehensive renovation work including exterior and interior painting, door hardware installation, hollow metal door and frame replacement, and associated surface preparation and finishing. The specifications cover detailed requirements for rough carpentry, joint sealants, hollow metal doors and frames, door hardware, and interior painting across multiple sections with precise technical standards and performance criteria.

The specifications outline detailed material requirements, including specific paint systems, hardware finishes, door types, and installation methodologies. The project emphasizes compliance with various industry standards such as ASTM, BHMA, and ADA requirements. Material selections include galvannealed steel for doors and frames, specific paint types like high-performance architectural interior latex and epoxy-modified latex, and hardware with warranties ranging from two to five years. The documents provide comprehensive guidance on surface preparation, application methods, quality assurance, and execution standards to ensure a high-quality, durable renovation of the facility's interior and exterior surfaces.
