Background

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Northeast Food & Feed Laboratory (NFFL) performs Pesticides residue (PES) analysis utilizing Liquid Chromatography Mass

Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The LC-MS/MS systems used in the PES analysis laboratory are highly sensitive analytical instruments. Not only does the laboratory environment influence their sensitivity, but the instruments themselves produce a great amount of heat and noise. Ion benches are specifically designed to make the working conditions better for the LC-MS/MS systems. They provided a quieter environment with noise reduction enclosures, built-in cooling systems, and are more ergonomic for the analyst using the system.

Purpose

NFFL requires the two ion benches to support the use of the AB Sciex 6500 and 5500 LC-

MS/MS systems in the PES program.

Scope

The Contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the tasks and deliverables described in this Statement of Work (SOW). The Contractor shall provide two (2) ion benches suitable for use with an AB Sciex 5500 LC-MS/MS and an AB Sciex 6500 LC-

MS/MS that meet the requirements set forth below.

I. Requirements

Minimum Technical Requirements:

The Ion Bench for use with NFFL’s AB Sciex 6500 LC-MS/MS system shall meet the following specifications:

• Mass Spectrometry Bench approximately 200x90 cm with integrated extra-large noise enclosure

• CPU holder to fix under worksurface (left or right position)

• flat screen monitor arm + keyboard shelf

• At least 3 drawers bank

• Approximately W40 x H4 cm / tray Cable Tray

• Solvent waste storage fixed on the bench side

• Drain kit and drain pump

• Power: 110/220 V, 50/60hz

The Ion Bench for use with NFFL’s AB Sciex 5500 LC-MS/MS system shall meet the following specifications:

• Mass Spectrometry Bench approximately 200x90 cm with integrated large noise enclosure

• CPU holder to fix under worksurface (left or right position)

• flat screen monitor arm + keyboard shelf

• At least 3 drawers bank

• Approximately W40 x H4 cm / tray Cable Tray

• Solvent waste storage fixed on the bench side

• Drain kit and drain pump

• Power: 110/220 V, 50/60hz

Trade and Service Specifications

1. The instrument must be a newly manufactured unit, not used and refurbished or previously used for demonstration.

2. FOB Point destination to include delivery to NFFL loading dock.

3. The entire system must be warranted for parts and labor for 12 months from the date of formal government acceptance. The vendor must also be capable of servicing the instrument through the covered warranty period. The system must include at least a one (1) year warranty and shall include at a minimum:

coverage on all non-consumable items and parts supplied including base instrument, factory-certified replacement parts, engineer labor and travel costs.
