D. Liquid Oxygen & Tank Rental – General Specifications Oxygen is used year-round to ensure oxygen demands are met for rearing approximately 500,000 Rainbow Trout. The Nampa Fish Hatchery has recently been redesigned, and the addition of this oxygen system is required to ensure production of healthy fish. The use of oxygen injection allows precise adjustment to dissolved oxygen levels. This requires the bulk tank and is currently the most efficient means of augmenting the available oxygen in the water supply to provide the public with the same level of service the Nampa Fish Hatchery has provided for the past 40+ years. The following Specifications are the minimum that IDFG is willing to accept.
1. One (1) each – One thousand (1,000) gallon liquid oxygen tank, leased annually
1.1 One (1) each – Containment system that meets required safety specifications
1.2 The vendor will deliver the tank to a newly constructed concrete pad at the hatchery site (pictured below) after necessary fittings & safety elements have been installed.
1.3 The vendor will refill the tank as needed with industrial grade 99.8% pure liquid oxygen, with an estimated use of one thousand (1,000) gallons/month with a maximum estimate of two thousand (2,000) gallons/month
1.4 The vendor will annually inspect & perform manufacturer recommended preventative maintenance in accordance with State & Federal regulation and at the Hatchery’s needs & instruction
1.5 The vendor will be responsible for the repairing or replacement of any equipment, connecting hoses, fittings and connections for the rental equipment
Approximate tank location is outlined in red.
