Solicitation Number 12970223Q0004 Klamath National Forest Remove and Install Questions and Answers

1. Does the contractor have to transport any part of vault to new site, dispose of old vault or have anything to do with the salvage of middle and top besides setting it at new site. Are these pieces going to be at the new site location when contractor arrives and how far away are they from actual spot it is going to be permanently set.

Answer: The contractor is only responsible for supplying and delivering the new vault and liner that matches a CXT Cascadian single vault toilet. A separate contractor is delivering the CXT Cascadian Single Vault toilet to Brown Bear River Access and it will be offloaded near the final resting location awaiting installation (outside the working area). Ideally if the contract is put in place soon enough, we can have the contract for each project coordinate the best location for the vault toilet to be placed in order for it to not interfere with the vault toilet installation work.

2. What is to be done with the old vault?

Answer: This is outside the scope of this contract. The old vault is going to be demolished and buried on site at Grider Campground.

3. Is it the responsibility of the Contractor to pump out the old vault prior to work?

Answer: This is outside the scope of this contract. The contractor will not be required to pump out the old vault prior to work as the vault will be destroyed on site at Grider Campground.
