North Kaibab and Mogollon Rim Routine Road Maintenance Clarifications – based on 8-14-2012 show-me

1. Have attached a document with pictures of all Forest Service Road Maintenance Levels.

2. In areas where false ditches are not fixable, we would like to see holes or reliefs punched through the berms approximately every 75 linear feet. The reliefs should allow the water to drain freely.

3. Where false ditches are repairable please retrieve all material back to the roadway or blade to a uniform side slope or fill slope per diagram on page 4 of the Forest Service Road Maintenance Levels.

4. All existing material in ditches shall be reclaimed to the roadway as feasible.

5. Hazard trees for the purposes of this contract shall be live or dead standing trees adjacent to the roadway.

6. Cleaning of Culverts shall include the outlet ditches within existing disturbed areas along with the other work described in the solicitation.

7. All material bladed and reclaimed to the roadway shall be put into the appropriate cross section (crown, in slope, or out slope). Compaction of the material will not be required other than what is accomplished during the blading activities.

8. All lead off ditches should be cleaned in a manner that pulls the material back onto the roadway.

9. If road sections have two drainage ditches on both sides they shall be cleaned and all suitable material pulled back onto the roadway.
