About this file

This document is an addendum to a Request for Bids (RFB) issued by the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia for stage curtains for the Columbus Civic Center arena. The addendum extends the bid due date to March 20, 2024 and provides responses to two questions from bidders. The RFB is seeking a total of twenty-three (23) stage curtains, consisting of fourteen (14) side curtains and nine (9) middle stage curtains, to be used as backdrops, to keep out sunlight, and to block backstage activity during shows. The curtains must meet or exceed specifications for DD 9919 Nirvana B.O.B fabric, but the addendum also identifies 22-23 Oz IFR Valdosta Poly Velour as an acceptable alternative.

The addendum does not provide any information about pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements and sources, or other salient commercial details. The contract opportunity is limited to the Muscogee County and Columbus City jurisdictions within the state of Georgia.

A. DUE DATE

The due date is extended; bids must be submitted via DemandStar no later than 2:30 PM on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

B. QUESTIONS/RESPONSES

Question 1: Is DD 9919 NIRVANA BOB truly the fabric you intend and/or wish to use for this project?

Response: The user department confirmed a preference for the DD 9919 Nirvana BOB, as it is “F7 Certified Fabric and undergoes a comprehensive manufacturing process to ensure reliability and consistency on every roll. Most importantly, it is flame retardant, meeting NFPA 701”.

Question 2: If you are open to alternative fabrics, please indicate the fabric criteria you deem an acceptable alternative.

Response: The Columbus Civic Center deems the 22-23 Oz IFR Valdosta Poly Velour

(unlined, color black, sewn at 50% fullness) an acceptable alternative to DD 9919

Nirvana BOB.
