About this file
This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by the City of LaFayette, Georgia, for the design and installation of an all-inclusive playground. The City seeks qualified firms to provide comprehensive design services, materials, labor, and complete installation of a playground measuring 60 by 115 feet on a prepared pad at grade. The playground must adhere to ADA guidelines and incorporate inclusive features such as swings, a zip line, and a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round, while complementing adjacent rock climbing walls and man-made boulders through the use of natural elements and earth-tone coloring. The firm will be responsible for site evaluation and preparation, supply and installation of all equipment and surfacing, project management and coordination with City staff, final inspection and cleanup, and warranty coverage. The RFP was issued on June 11, 2025, with a submission deadline of July 21, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., and a project completion deadline of November 30, 2025. Interested parties must submit three hard copies of sealed proposals to City Hall, Attn: David Hamilton, 207 South Duke Street, LaFayette, GA 30728. All inquiries must be submitted in writing to Clay Tracy, Project Manager, by July 9, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
The total project budget is $180,000.00, and proposals must not exceed this amount. Bid, performance, and payment bonds are required. Proposals will be evaluated based on weighted criteria including design (50%), cost (20%), warranty (15%), experience (10%), scheduling (10%), and references (5%). The City reserves the right to negotiate with the highest-ranked respondent, reject any or all proposals, or select the proposal that best serves the City's interests regardless of cost considerations. All proposals and supporting documentation become the property of the City and will not be returned. Respondents are responsible for all costs associated with proposal preparation and submission. Proposals must remain valid for three months following the submission deadline, and all respondents must comply with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
