About this file

The document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by JKL Bahweting School PSA located in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, seeking a vendor to purchase and install wireless electronic locks for classroom and office doors. The project involves integrating new electronic locks with the school's existing Genetec access control system, replacing proximity credentials with more secure non-prox credentials, and installing locks across three specific locations totaling 15 doors. The bid is due on April 30, 2025 at 3:00 PM local time, with school board approval anticipated on May 13, 2025, and a requested project completion date of July 31, 2025.

The RFP requires vendors to propose a cost-effective solution compatible with the school's current access control infrastructure, including Genetec Security Center 5.10 and Synergis Cloud Link 11.4. The project requires 200 new credentials and replacement of existing readers that only support proximity technology. Vendors must be authorized resellers and provide all necessary equipment, materials, installation services, and licensing. The school will require comprehensive documentation, including IP/MAC addressing and login information. The RFP emphasizes that while no specific manufacturer is mandated, all proposed equipment must be compatible with the existing system, and all items must be new, with no refurbished or off-lease equipment accepted.

For example, door locks proposals are not required to be limited to only include Schlage AD400 units.

Any proposed controllers located outside the IDF must be PoE (preferred) or 12/24v low voltage capable as necessary. Assume that each IDF locations already has an 24v DC power supply panel and will not be required to quote. Assume that if a controller is installed outside the IDF that a new CAT6 ethernet connection will need to be run. All CAT6 and low voltage cabling should be plenum and run to nearest IDF location.
