About this file
Amendment One for RFP 2025-1200-0345 is an official document issued by the State of Alaska Department of Public Safety, Division of Administrative Services, addressing vendor questions for an Aluminum Skiff Build procurement. The amendment, issued on April 30, 2025, provides clarifications on two technical specifications: first, confirming that 3/16" side plate and 1/4" bottom plate are acceptable alternative thickness measurements for the vessel, and second, confirming that lifting eyes should be designed to hold the vessel's weight without specific crane or vessel capacity restrictions.
This amendment requires vendors to sign and return the document with their proposal, with a warning that failure to do so may result in proposal rejection. The amendment emphasizes that only the specific referenced RFP terms are being changed, and all other original terms and conditions remain unchanged. The procurement contact is Kelly Pahlau, Procurement Specialist 5, who can be reached at (907) 269-8493 or kelly.pahlau@alaska.gov. While this document does not provide comprehensive pricing or set-aside details, it is part of a larger procurement process for a specialized aluminum patrol skiff for Alaska Wildlife Troopers.

Questions submitted by potential offerors and answers from the state:
Question 1: On page 36 section 5.02 it calls out side plating of 1/4” and bottom plating of 5/16”. I believe this to be a carry over from a previous spec as that is very unusual plate thickness for a vessel of this size. Can you confirm that use of 3/16” side plate and 1/4” bottom plate that aligns with industry standards is acceptable.
Answer: The change in plating is acceptable.
Question 2: On page 39 section 5.03 under miscellaneous equipment it calls out 3/4” lifting eyes and harness system to be able to lift the vessel by crane onto the a larger vessel. Are there any height, weight, or other restrictions on the crane / vessel capacity that we need to be aware of and design to for this vessel to align with the lifting vessel?
Answer: There is no restrictions on the capabilities of the crane to be concerned with as long as the eyes are built with the ability to hold the vessels weight.
