About this file

This document is an addendum to Request for Proposal (RFP) 2025-02 issued by the County of Goochland, Virginia for a Custom Commercial Food Trailer. The RFP seeks a properly sized generator and electrical service to operate the trailer and its equipment, including potential coffee makers, hot dog warmers, popcorn makers, and crockpots. The trailer must meet all Federal, State, and Local regulations, including the requirement for an ABC fire extinguisher.

The RFP allows for an electric jack with battery as an alternative to a hydraulic jack. It also clarifies that a separate fresh and grey water tank for the mop sink is not required. The county plans to provide a dedicated electrical service to the trailer's primary location near an existing concession stand, as well as accommodate the trailer's use at other county properties as a stand-alone operation.

ADDENDUM TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

RFP NO: RFP 2025-02 Custom Commercial Food Trailer

RFP DATE: September 16,2024

ADDENDUM NO: One

The following questions and answers are related to RFP 2025-02.

QUESTIONS:

1. Is an electric jack with battery an allowable substitute for a hydraulic jack? Hydraulic jacks can be an expensive add on.

A. An electric jack with battery or a hydraulic jack would both suffice.

2. Is an ABC fire extinguisher required as per Virginia Fire Code or will you provide one? There is not one specified.

A. Yes, an ABC fire extinguisher would be required. The trailer must meet all Federal, State, and Local regulations.

3. Do you want a separate fresh and grey water tank for the mop sink, or should it share with the other sinks?

A. A separate fresh and grey water tank is not required.

4. 17k portable generator does not appear to be enough power to run all proposed equipment. Do you want the proper sized generator to run the entire food trailer?

A. A properly sized generator to operate the trailer and the equipment should be included. The recommended size of the generator should be determined by the manufacturer recommendations and demand of all selected equipment to be installed. Additionally, other equipment that will be purchased for the trailer (coffee maker, hot dog warmer, popcorn maker, crockpot, etc.) should be considered when evaluating the appropriate power needed. (That additional equipment will not be purchased as part of this RFP)

5. Please clarify "Custom power supply hook ups to support 110 and 240 voltages"? This is too much power to run offshore power. Will you have access to power from a building or dedicated 200-amp service?

A. Primarily, the trailer will be located near an existing concession stand building. We do plan to run an appropriate, dedicated, electrical service to that particular location for the trailer based on the power needed. In addition, the trailer will function frequently as a stand-alone operation at other parks and county property locations. Given the potential use and versatility of the trailer, all electrical current and future needs should be considered.
