About this file
This Request for Proposal (RFP 081126-002) from the City of Georgia solicits competitive proposals from qualified firms to provide comprehensive sludge removal services at the municipality's closed wastewater treatment pond. The project requires contractors to furnish all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to reduce sludge in the pond, which currently contains approximately 450,000 cubic feet of material with an average depth of 4.7 feet across a pond averaging 5-7 feet in depth. The scope of work requires reduction of pond sludge to 12 inches or less in the basin through either dredging or degradation services. Contractors must conduct initial and final sludge depth studies before and after work completion for comparative analysis, with all study expenses included in mobilization and demobilization bid pricing. Submission of an Operations Plan is mandatory within 30 days of notice of award and must receive City approval prior to work commencement; this plan must detail all anticipated chemicals, major construction equipment with ownership/lessor information if not contractor-owned, subcontractors, site preparation and mobilization procedures, dredging or degradation methods, demobilization procedures, project schedule, and project manager contact information.
The RFP does not specify response deadlines, bid opening dates, site visit requirements, or pre-bid conferences in the provided documentation. No specific pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent contractor information, funding sources, or contract award amounts are detailed in this summary document. The contract appears structured with cost components for mobilization and demobilization services, though specific budget allocations and funding mechanisms are not identified in the available materials.
