Please confirm that the BAS controls are currently in place and that the scope of work included in this contract would be to ensure that the BAS is reading the WQM stations once they are re-installed? Yes, BAS is in place but WQM are we believe are monitored independently and will need contractor to tie to most updated system in place and ensure that the BAS is programmed and reading the WQM stations once they are re-installed.
Question #: 03 Sheet: Solicitation PG. 18 Section D Spec: N/A Topic: Work Hours Question: Please confirm work hours for this project. Are there any specific tasks or trade division that must be on overtime (01 Infection Control, 02 Demolition, 02 Abatement)? Are there any areas of work that must be on overtime (Hallways, Occupied Areas, Etc.)? Please clarify if contractor is to assume all exterior work is to be completed on regular hours. Is all interior work to be assumed to be on nights or weekends for bidding purposes? Contractor to work hours that are to minimize patient impact. Interior and exterior hours outside will depend on what is being affected and how long the down time and is it affecting patient care.

Question #: 10 Sheet: PP214 Spec: Valves Topic: Valve Mis-Labeling Question: Are keynotes 3-10 on plan page PP214 intended to be valve replacements? There is no ‘valve’ after the piping types and seems to be a mistake on the plans.
The plan PP214 and associated key notes are referenced to the valve replacement drawings. Sizes and pipe systems indicated at keynotes 3-10 are referenced to the existing valves to be replaced.
Question #: 11 Sheet: N/A Spec: N/A Topic: Geotechnical Engineer Question: Is the contractor responsible for hiring a geotechnical engineer to monitor site work activities? YES

Question #: 15 Sheet: D-3 Spec: Striping Topic: Striping Legend Question: There is some confusion on plan page D-3 for the existing striping plan vs remove existing concrete walk hatched areas. Per the legend, the diagonal hatch mark states to ‘remove existing concrete walk’ but seems to follow the striping plan instead of indicating where to remove concrete. Are we able to get a revised plan which accurately reflects the extent of concrete? Note: “REMOVE AND REPLACE EXISTING 8' WIDE CONCRETE SIDEWALK. FULL DEPTH SAWCUT TO NEAREST JOINT LINE - FIELD VERIFY.” This refers to the 8’x 32’ section delineated on the drawing. Note: “REMOVE AND REPLACE EXISTING BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT - FIELD VERIFY AND LOCATE”. This refers to the crosshatched area approximately 16’ wide by the width of the parking lot.
Question #: 16 Sheet: Architectural Spec: N/A Topic: Deck Height Question: Please provide existing deck height and existing ceiling heights for bidding purposes. AE to answer. Question #: 21 Sheet: All Spec: N/A Topic: Furniture / Existing Items Question: Please confirm if the VA Facility will remove all items in existing offices / healthcare areas / hallways / administrative areas prior to contractors performing work in those locations? If not, are prime contractors responsible for labor costs to move these items prior to work beginning, and if so to which staging location? Yes, the facility with interior design movers will remove but contractor is responsible and will coordinate with the VA to remove and store loose equipment/furniture during active period of construction per area being affected.
Question #: 22 Sheet: All Spec: N/A Topic: Phasing Question: Are prime contractors to assume a certain number of rooms per ‘phase’ for the duration of the contract? Typically, in these types of projects, the facility will determine 4-6 rooms will be turned over and isolated for the duration of construction. No this will be coordinated as room are available and coordinated and verified with VA Miami.
Question #: 23 Sheet: All Spec: Infection Control Topic: Infection Control Class - Hallways Question: Please confirm what ICRA class is required in the hallways. Are prime contractors to work out of infection control cubes, or can 1-2 ceiling tiles be out of place without ICRA in place? This depends on area that contractors are working but since they are patient areas it is likely to be Class III and IV this will be coordinated with COR, infection control and follow VA Miami safety requirements.
Question #: 24 Sheet: All Spec: Infection Control Topic: Infection Control – Office / Administrative Question: Please confirm what ICRA Class is required in the offices / administrative areas? Are prime contractors to completely isolate the areas with full containment, or can work be performed above ceiling with minor ICRA in place? This depends on area that contractors are working but likely a Class I, but the area will be covered with Visqueen to avoid any particles, this will be coordinated with COR, infection control and follow VA Miami safety requirements.
Question #: 25 Sheet: Plumbing drawings Spec: N/A Topic: System Installation Question: Are isolation valves currently in place where prime contractors can demolish and remove the current system prior to installation of the new? Question #: 26 Sheet: N/A Spec: N/A Topic: Phasing for work in rooms Question: Will the contractor have access to move freely between the rooms within the project scope of work? Or will rooms need to be scheduled in advance for access to allow time to remove occupants? If the latter, how many rooms will the contractor be given access to at once? Will there be downtime required between work in each room? Work will need to be scheduled in advance with VA. Number of rooms will need to be scheduled with VA.
Question #: 27 Sheet: A404 Spec: N/A Topic: Ceiling Devices Question: A404 mentions that ceiling devices are to be removed as well as ceiling systems for plumbing access. Is there an available ceiling plan including all ceiling devices within the workspace available? Will ceiling device removal include electrical / fire alarm / low voltage work? No available plan. Existing devices shall be left connected and secured until ceiling is replaced.
Question #: 28
Spec: N/A Topic: Wall Tile at fixtures Question: Is existing wall tile (to be removed and replaced at plumbing fixtures) full height or wainscot?
