About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the 763rd Enterprise Sourcing Squadron (763 ESS) at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, seeking vendor capability information regarding flight antennas and batteries for the 15th Air and Space Operations Squadron's tactical communications and battery systems.

The RFI solicits information on five specific line items: the MP-3512/TG 30-512MHz Manpack Antenna (gooseneck configuration), the 1Y58950 MPDP225X2/1.25-2.7 multi-band antenna, the 12500-2500-02 rechargeable 7.0 amp-hour lithium-ion battery, the E45-0070-414 O-ring, and the BT-70791CK lithium-ion battery with 251Wh capacity. Required antenna capabilities include multi-band operation (225–450 MHz UHF and 1250–2700 MHz L/S bands), omni-directional radiation patterns, 50-ohm impedance, VSWR of 2.5:1 or better, vertical polarization, integrated antenna matching units, 25-watt minimum power handling, ruggedized construction meeting MIL-STD-810 standards, and compact form factors. Battery requirements mandate full compatibility with tactical radio systems, rechargeable lithium-ion chemistry, smart battery management capability, proper form-fit-function compliance, and military safety certifications. The RFI emphasizes interoperability with existing systems, warns that substitutions introduce compatibility risks, and notes that non-OEM batteries may void equipment certifications.

Responses must be submitted via email by 01 May 2026 at 12:00 PM CST to Contract Specialist Katelyn Timmermann (katelyn.timmermann@us.af.mil) and Contracting Officer Angela Port (angela.port@us.af.mil). The anticipated NAICS code is 334220 with a 1,250-employee size standard. Responses should include business information, CAGE code, UEI number, small business status and type, subcontractor listings with performance percentages, available contract vehicles (GWACs, FSS, or other government contracts), capability statements, and intent regarding future proposal submission. The RFI is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a commitment to award a contract; no funds are available for response preparation.

FOR PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. ANY

INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS TECHNICAL

DESCRIPTION IS STRICTLY VOLUNTARY.

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES:

The 15 ASOS has a need for Flight Antenna and Batteries – specific tactical communications and battery systems in support of ongoing operational mission requirements.

An equivalent item is acceptable, provided it meets the exact form, f\it and function of the part numbers listed below.

X001 MP-3512/TG 30-512MHz Manpack Antenna - Gooseneck

X002 1Y58950 MPDP225X2/1.25-2.7, 225-450 and 1250-2700 MHz

X003

12500-2500-02 BATTERY PK, RECHARGEABLE, 7.0A-HR LITH

ION, GRN

X004 E45-0070-414 O-RING EPDM, 70 DURO, 2.5MM W, 14MM ID

X005 BT-70791CK BATTERY, LiION, BB-2590,251Wh

Antennas:

• Must support multi-band operation compatible with military and MANET radio systems

• Antenna must operate within:

o 225–450 MHz (UHF band) o 1250–2700 MHz (L/S bands)

• Omni-directional radiation pattern (360° azimuth coverage)

• Nominal impedance of 50 ohms

• VSWR of ≤ 2.5:1 (2:1 typical)

• Vertical polarization

• Integrated Antenna Matching Unit (AMU) for optimized performance

• Power handling of at least 25 watts

• Ruggedized construction:

o UV-stable radome o Corrosion-resistant materials o Designed to meet MIL-STD-810 environmental conditions

• Compact and lightweight form factor suitable for portable and mobile operations

Batteries and Accessories:

• Must be fully compatible with supported handheld and tactical radio systems

• Rechargeable lithium-ion chemistry

• Smart battery capability (for L3Harris 12500-2500-02), including battery management and status monitoring
