1.1 BACKGROUND

1.1.1 NSWCPD Code 423 manages the 2S COG Program for the U.S. Navy. The 2S COG program manages the rotatable pool and repair pipeline for U.S. Navy non-nuclear propulsion assets, which include Marine Gas Turbines used for propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary power on various U.S. Navy surface and amphibious platforms.

Marine Gas Turbines are maintained on a condition basis such that an engine is only removed from service after it has failed or, based on inspection, if it is likely to fail before the next ship availability.

1.1.2 The proposed acquisition will provide for the test, complete teardown, evaluation, depot-level repair, repair, performance testing, and temporary storage of the U.S. Navy MT7 Marine Gas Turbine Engine, Part Number 23091715. The MT7 gas turbine engines are used on the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) 100 Class.

1.2 SCOPE OF WORK

1.2.1 This Statement of Work identifies the requirements for Rolls-Royce Corporation to perform testing, complete teardown, evaluation, depot-level repair, repair, performance testing, and temporary storage of the U.S. Navy MT7 Gas Turbine Engine, Part Number 23091715.

1.2.2 The MT7 Gas Turbine Engine, Part Number 23091715, consists of a Torquemeter, Air Inlet Housing, Compressor, Diffuser, Combustion Section, Gas

Generator Turbine, Power Turbine, Accessory Drive Gearbox, Bleed Air System, and Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC). This Contract will not cover repair of the Bleed Air System or FADEC. The Bleed Air Assembly and FADEC will not be shipped with the MT7 Gas Turbine Engine to the depot repair facility.

1.2.3 An additional Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) is included in this Contract to cover partial teardown of the MT7 Gas Turbine Engine, Part Number 23091715, to the level required and as requested and authorized by the Government.
