About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the United States Army Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) on behalf of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). The RFI seeks potential suppliers for customizable jackets for Non-Human Primates (NHPs), specifically targeting approximately 100 jackets per year for various NHP species including rhesus macaques, cynomolgus macaques, African green monkeys, and common marmosets. The jackets must be adaptable in sizing, constructed from durable NHP-safe materials with reinforced seams, and meet strict animal welfare and research compliance standards.
Interested vendors must submit a ten-page Capabilities Statement by 1300 Eastern Time on October 2, 2025, to Ryan Jorgensen via email. The submission should include company details such as contact information, CAGE code, Unique Entity ID, business size, and SAM registration status. If a solicitation is issued, vendors may be required to provide a sample jacket for a medium cynomolgus macaque weighing 3.5-5.0 kg. The NAICS code is 339112 (Veterinary Medical Equipment), with no specific set-aside designation. The RFI emphasizes that this is a market research exercise and does not guarantee a future contract, and all information submission is voluntary.

Non-Human Primates (NHPs) Customizable Jackets
The U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) is seeking information from potential suppliers regarding customizable jackets for Non-Human Primates (NHPs). These jackets will be used during studies involving various NHP species (approximately 100 per year) and must meet stringent requirements for animal welfare, research integrity, and regulatory compliance.
We are soliciting information from qualified vendors capable of providing NHP jackets that meet the following essential criteria:
•Sizing and Fit: Adaptable to NHPs of varying ages, species, and weights used at USAMRIID, including rhesus macaques, cynomolgus macaques, African green monkeys, and common marmosets. Jackets must fit snugly and comfortably around the neck, thorax, abdomen, and armholes to prevent injury or escape, without restricting normal movement or respiratory efforts, or causing chafing.
•Materials and Construction: Constructed from durable, NHP-safe materials and fabrics with reinforced seams that prevent self-injurious behavior, provide a protective barrier for telemetry implants and catheters, and comply with the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, 8th Ed., 2011 and all relevant government regulations. Materials must not cause animal discomfort, distress, or pain when properly fitted.
•Delivery: Able to be delivered within four (4) weeks of placing the order We are also interested in the following optional features:
•Customizable fit, features, and fabrics to meet specific protocol requirements for functionality, enhanced durability, or improved animal comfort.
