About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) for the repair of LRU 33/A 20 Person Life Rafts used on AC/HC/MC-130J aircraft. The government is seeking to identify potential repair sources for 46 life rafts over a five-year contract period, with 14 rafts in the basic year and 8 rafts in each of the four subsequent ordering periods. The life rafts have a specific National Stock Number (NSN 4220-01-505-8727SO) and Part Number (65260-103), and are critical to Special Operations Forces missions, with potential life-or-equipment-loss implications if they fail.

The RFI requires potential contractors to complete a comprehensive Contractor Capability Survey covering business information, general capabilities, repair expertise, and commerciality aspects. Respondents must provide details about their facility, repair experience, technical data generation capabilities, quality assurance processes, and ability to handle these specialized life rafts. The current Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is Air Cruisers Company, LLC dba Safran. Written responses must be submitted via email to Eric Colvin by close of business on 16 October 2025, with questions to be directed to the same Government Logistic Manager at (478) 222-0876.

Which will be a total estimate of 46 Rafts. This may increase due to new aircrafts fielding.
