About this file
The City of Ukiah has issued a Request for Bid (RFB) for Liquid Polymer Emulsion for its Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The solicitation seeks approximately 10,000 pounds of liquid polymer, specifically Polydyne SW-057, Praestol K144L or an equivalent product, with bids to be received until 1:30 p.m. on October 24, 2024. The contract will cover a one-year period from the date of award, with the lowest overall bid being selected. The liquid polymer is a water-soluble cationic polymer in emulsion capable of treating influent sludge of 3% to 6% and producing cake solids of 26% to 28%.
The bid includes local vendor preferences, with local vendors receiving a 5% allowance up to $2,500, and requires vendors to possess a current City of Ukiah business license. Pricing is to be quoted freight off-loaded at designated city locations, excluding state and local sales taxes and federal and state excise taxes. Vendors must provide 275-gallon disposable tote bins and guarantee delivery within 5 working days of receiving a phone or fax order. The bid also outlines specific insurance requirements, including compliance with DOT Hazardous Materials regulations and OSHA standards, with the successful vendor agreeing to indemnify the city and meet specified insurance coverage conditions.
