About this file

The City of Ukiah has issued a Request for Bid (RFB) for Liquid Polymer Alkylamine, specifically seeking Clarifloc SW-238, Praestol 193K or an equivalent product for the Waste Water Treatment Plant. The bid solicits approximately 25,000 pounds of liquid polymer to be used as a coagulant aid in conjunction with 40% Ferric Chloride, with bids to be received until 1:30 p.m. on October 17, 2025, at the office of the Purchasing Manager located at 411 West Clay Street. The contract will cover a one-year period from the date of award, with the City reserving the right to accept or reject any bids and potential local vendor preference considerations.

The bid includes specific requirements for delivery, with products to be delivered to the City of Ukiah Waste Water Treatment Plant within 5 working days of order, and suppliers must provide 275-gallon disposable tote bins. Local vendors may receive a 5% preference (up to $2,500) if they meet specific criteria, including conducting business in Mendocino County with a valid local business license for at least six months. Invoices for Water Treatment Plant deliveries are non-taxable, and suppliers must possess a current City of Ukiah business license. The bid also mandates comprehensive insurance requirements and compliance with DOT Hazardous Materials regulations and OSHA standards, with the contract to be awarded to the lowest overall bidder.
