About this file

This is an addendum document providing supplemental guidance for Request for Bid (RFB) 4060 issued by the Madison Metropolitan School District, Art Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction in Wisconsin for stringed wooden instrument repair services. The document clarifies key aspects of repair scope to assist bidders in preparing accurate cost estimates. Specifically, bidders should assess seam-gluing operations based on average, garden-variety seam splits or open seam repairs typically performed on school instruments. Top surface crack repairs should be evaluated assuming the neck block and neck remain attached to each other. Bow repairs are to be interpreted as bow rehair or the most commonly performed type of bow repair. These clarifications enable bidders to standardize their approach to estimating repair costs for competitive bidding purposes.

No additional information regarding pricing terms, contract duration, award dates, or other salient contract details is provided in this supplemental guidance document. Bidders should refer to the primary RFB 4060 solicitation documents for complete specifications, submission requirements, pricing structures, and other essential bid parameters.

RFB 4060 – Stringed Wooden Instrument Repair

Additional Information

1:Understanding that each seam-gluing operation is unique, assess an average/garden-variety seam split, or look at an average estimate you've made for an open seam repair for school instruments in the past year.
2.Repair of a top surface crack can be interpreted as having the neck block and neck still attached to each other, for simplicity's sake.
3.The bow repair can be interpreted as a bow rehair, or whatever type of bow repair might be most common.
