About this file
This document is a Request for Application (RFA) for the Limited Competition: Building Partnerships and Broadening Perspectives to Advance Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI) Research (BBAER) Program (UM1), which is a federal grant opportunity.
The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) is seeking applications from domestic organizations in the United States and its territories that received less than $30 million per year in total NIH funding for the past three fiscal years. The purpose of this program is to broaden the types of knowledge, skills, expertise, experience, and perspectives brought to bear in research addressing the ethical, legal and social implications (ELSI) of advances in human genetics or genomics. The program will support transdisciplinary ELSI research, the establishment of research teams that include relevant community representatives, research capacity building, and workforce development opportunities. Applicants must provide a strategic management plan, evaluation plan, and sustainability plan. This grant opportunity is funded under the Human Genome Research program (CFDA 93.172) administered by the Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health.
