About this file

This is a revised Request for Proposals issued by the Town of Brookline, Vermont, for winter sand delivery services during the 2026-2027 season. The town seeks qualified vendors to deliver sand to the municipal sand shed as needed throughout the winter season, with a requirement to complete delivery within seven days of request. Vendors must mix the sand with road salt from the town's salt shed as directed by the Highway Supervisor. A material sample of approximately one quart must accompany each bid for evaluation by the road supervisor. Sealed bids will be opened at approximately 7:00 PM on October 21, 2026, during a regular Selectboard meeting, with bids and material samples due at the Town Office by 6:30 PM that same date. The town will consider awarding either one-year or two-year contracts, with vendors required to clearly indicate second-year pricing if submitting multi-year bids.

Bids must specify the delivered cost per cubic yard of material. The town reserves the right to inspect all sand deliveries and reject any material failing to meet established standards. The successful bidder must provide a Certificate of Insurance demonstrating general liability coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 in aggregate, along with Worker's Compensation insurance compliant with Vermont state law. Prior to commencing work, the selected vendor must complete all required town paperwork. The town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and accept the bid deemed most favorable to municipal interests.
