About this file

This is a Supplier Q&A document issued by the Georgia Department of Agriculture in response to inquiries regarding RFX AGR0000023 for scrap metal sale and removal. The solicitation seeks qualified firms to bid on scrap metal available at the Atlanta State Farmers Market, Building 30, located at 16 Forest Parkway, Forest Park, Georgia. A mandatory site visit was scheduled for December 22, 2014, at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, with Andy Stanton available at (404) 275-8328 for questions regarding the site visit. The RFX was initially posted to the internet on September 30, 2014, with the Q&A document issued on January 2, 2015, by Laura Hardwick at the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

Award determination for this scrap sale will be based on the highest price offered, contingent upon the bidder meeting all stated requirements, including mandatory insurance coverage levels. All bidders are held to the same insurance standards, and any bidder offering insufficient or no insurance coverage will be deemed non-responsive and ineligible for award regardless of price. Bid tabulations will be posted publicly on the Georgia Procurement Registry website accessible through www.doas.ga.gov following bid closing. For additional inquiries, bidders may contact Laura Hardwick at Laura.Hardwick@agr.georgia.gov or (404) 656-5645.

Answers

1. 1.

Will everyone be held to the same standards in regards to the proper insurance levels?

Yes

2. 2.

Could you have a lower price and all of the required insurance and be declared a responsive bidder over someone who offered a higher price but no insurance or insufficient coverage?

Because this is a sale for scrap, the highest price offered will be the overall determination for consideration for award as well as meeting all requirements as stipulated in the event. Insufficient or no insurance will not be considered for award.
