About this file

This document is a Response to Offeror Questions related to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) for a statewide trauma registry. The DOH directly receives trauma data from 45 trauma facilities and imported data from 4 American College of Surgeon (ACS) verified facilities, with an annual volume of approximately 8,000 patients. The preferred registry would allow for an API to accept EMS data in compliance with the NEMSIS. Offerors may submit inquiries to obtain clarification of requirements, and the State will respond to offeror inquiries via email and post them on the state's e-procurement system.

The RFP requires the successful offeror to provide a trauma registry system that can support data collection, report generation, and integration with EMS data. The State desires to migrate historical trauma data, which consists of approximately 65,000-70,000 records from 2010 to the present, into the new system. The State will pay for the Level IV and V hospitals' registry access, and the proposed system must meet all state and federal requirements for safeguarding the system and the state's data.
