This is a Questions and Answers document for Sources Sought Notice REQUIREMENTS-25-0447 regarding HVAC Technical Support Services for the National Weather Service (NWS) Central Region.
The Q&A provides details about the infrastructure to be serviced, specifying that each of the 32 NWS offices has two redundant heat pump systems on the main geothermal loop for operations areas, plus 1-2 additional heat pumps for auxiliary areas and a reheat loop heat pump for server room heat reclamation. Each office has approximately 200 control points and uses existing Honeywell hardware including JACEs, spyders, and sensors across 5 unique office layouts. Sources Sought Notice Q & A
REQUIREMENTS-25-0447
National Weather Service (NWS) Central Region (CR) Heating, Ventilation, and Air-
Conditioning (HVAC) Technical Support Services
Question #1: Do you have a total asset list or more information about the number of devices we are expected to service?
Answer: At each office we have two redundant heat pump systems on the main geothermal loop servicing our operations area with 1 or 2 additional heat pumps to service auxiliary areas. There is also a reheat loop heat pump that reclaims heat from our server room to heat other portions of the building as needed. We currently have 32 offices being controlled with 5 unique office layouts with roughly 200 points per office. We already have the server and all of the hardware (Honeywell) in place at the offices (JACE's, spyders, sensors).
Question #2: Is this only for the BAS/Energy Management Systems, or do you expect onsite service of the geothermal HVAC equipment?
Answer: We do not expect any onsite service for mechanicals, this would be for software and programming support.
