REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENT
Title: Brand Name Only Photron FASTCAM Mini AX200-32GB Compact High-Speed Camera
Engineering Laboratory, Intelligent Systems Division, Production Systems Group
I. BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Production Systems Group (PSG) at NIST conducts research in metals-based additive manufacturing to develop and deploy advances in measurement science that will enable rapid design-to-product transformation. Part of this research involves in-situ monitoring of the laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing process and to measure melt pool dynamics, temperatures, and physics. To achieve these measurement goals, the PSG conducts experiments involving high speed imaging and thermography of the small (<1 mm) laser processing zone. This imaging system will provide measurement of melt pool dynamics, temperature, and ejecta characteristics, which will support research in process monitoring and sensor development and provide reference data for multiphysics simulations.
Purpose/Objective: The purpose of this requirement is to obtain one high-speed camera, on a Brand-Name Only basis to the Photron AX200-32GB high-speed camera manufactured by Photron, located in Japan. The high-speed camera shall meet the specific size, speed, working distance, and optical performance needs identified for this requirement in order to integrate with multiple existing experiment setups at NIST. NIST currently owns a Photron AX200, which is shared among different experiment apparatuses at NIST and the required new camera needs to integrate with the physical fixturing, custom-designed optical systems, and results produced by the existing image processing software that is based on the physical and optical specifications of the existing Photron AX200 camera.
II. SCOPE
The Contractor shall deliver a quantity of one (1) Photron FASTCAM Mini AX200-32GB on a BRAND NAME ONLY BASIS, inclusive of FOB Destination delivery, meeting the minimum specifications described below.
III. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The Contractor shall provide a system that meets all technical specifications identified below on a Brand-Name-Only basis. All items must be new. Used or remanufactured equipment will not be considered for award. Experimental, prototype, or custom items will not be considered. The use of “gray market” components are not authorized for sale in the U.S. by the Contractor is not acceptable. All line items shall be shipped in the original manufacturer’s packaging and include all original documentation and software, when applicable.
The Contractor shall provide a Firm Fixed Price Quotation for the following Contract Line Item Numbers (CLIN):
