Design and Editing Software Requirements
Requirement
As an international broadcaster, the Voice of America (VOA), a division of The United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) has a need for design tools and editing software for content creation across its digital, TV broadcasts and radio platforms. Production applications will be used to create material for broadcast programming inclusive but not limited to photos, audio, video, social media, graphics and multimedia content in a variety of languages.
An enterprise cloud/file based solution allowing for ease of installation of individual applications as well as full suite of applications on MAC and PC platforms. The solution should be able to manage enterprise deployments and license assignments, ease of applying security patches updates (the ability to push version releases and apply security updates to users via staged rollout) and administration of all applications is necessary to support approximately 1000 users throughout the Agency. The backend administration of licenses should be accessible on a permission basis. The suite of applications should provide cloud storage for assets and project sharing. Additionally, the capability to monitor use of applications and usage reporting is essential.
The ability for these tools to integrate into legacy systems such as media asset management platforms, archiving, proxy editing, and files with native alpha channels is critical to establishing efficient and effective workflows throughout the organization. Various output resolutions for compatibility across digital, TV and social media platforms is needed. Default template structures and custom template creation is necessary for ease of versioning into various languages as well as collaboration amongst users.
