About this file
This Requirements Document outlines the acquisition of a Best Source Selector (BSS) for the 704th Test Group/586 Flight Test Squadron at the Air Force Test Center. The BSS is a specialized data selection unit for White Sands Missile Range, with specific technical requirements including a 19-inch rack-mount chassis, 16 input channels supporting up to 40 Mbps data rates, capability for six best source selection group outputs, and support for both Data & Clock and Ethernet input/output. Critical specifications include an Ethernet Remote Control GUI, compliance with Range Commanders Council DQE/DQM IRIG-106 Standards, 75 Ohm BNC connectors, and a Field Programmable Gateway Array.
The contract requires delivery of one fully functional BSS unit within 140 days after receipt of order, to be delivered to Donald Pennington at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico. Strict manufacturing requirements mandate that the equipment must be United States manufactured and owned. Additional mandatory features include operator manuals, no hard drive with stored data, and the ability to decapsulate and process data and quality information from remote sources. The document emphasizes the 586 Flight Test Squadron's mission of evaluating and prototyping emergent technologies for future warfighters.
