About this file
This document is a Notice of Intent to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the APX CONSOLETTE AND MCD 5000 DESK SET SYSTEM. The contract will be awarded to Motorola for a one-year period from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026, by the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. The Motorola communication system is designed for emergency departments, enabling first responders and emergency rooms to maintain critical communication during potential evacuations, supporting both local and regional emergency services.
The government is seeking responses that demonstrate why this contract should not be competitively bid, specifically looking for evidence that competition would not be advantageous, cost-effective, or mission-critical. Potential respondents must submit their arguments to Contract Specialist Kimberly Bunn via email, using the subject line "Notice of Intent Submission 12312272". The government emphasizes that this is not a request for quotes or proposals, and respondents will not be reimbursed for any costs incurred in preparing a response. The final determination on competitive procurement remains solely at the government's discretion.
