About this file

This Request for Information (RFI) from the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command seeks to identify potential manufacturers for a 60K Aircraft Cargo Loader. The loader must be self-propelled with drive-on/drive-off capability, air transportable on C-5 and C-17 aircraft, and have a 60,000-pound capacity capable of handling six 463L pallets and Type V airdrop platforms. Key technical requirements include interface compatibility with multiple military and commercial aircraft, deck operations with specific roll (3.5-4.5 degrees), pitch (5.5-6.5 degrees), and yaw capabilities, stability in 40-knot winds, and the ability to produce at least 15 units annually.

Responses to the Capability Survey are due by February 28, 2025, and must be submitted to the specified contracting officers. The RFI includes detailed questions about manufacturing capabilities, quality assurance processes, commerciality, and engineering services. Respondents must provide information about their facility capabilities, past experience, security clearance capabilities, and technical data generation abilities. The NAICS code is 333924, and both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate, with joint ventures and teaming arrangements welcomed. The government notes that participation does not guarantee future contract opportunities, and expenses will not be reimbursed.
