About this file

This document is a Request for Federal Support, which is related to the FY2025 Weather Program Office (WPO) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Subseasonal to Seasonal (S2S) grant competition. The Request for Federal Support indicates that the applicant has a NOAA federal co-PI, co-I, or collaborator who is requesting funding, and the applicant has received pre-approval, outlined the funding request, and included the NOAA federal collaborator's cost in the budget.

The FY2025 WPO NOFO announces an approximate total award funding of $1,500,000.00 per year for the S2S grant competition. The funding opportunity aligns with the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017 and seeks projects responsive to priorities outlined in the Science Advisory Board's 2021 Priorities for Weather Research Report and the National Weather Service's strategic priority to advance probabilistic forecasting and decision support services. The NOFO targets research at specific Readiness Levels and encourages applicants to write their proposals and perform their work in a manner consistent with NOAA's core values, including diversity, inclusion, accessibility, civil rights, and scientific integrity.
