About this file

This Statement of Work details the repair requirements for a Bio-Rad QX600 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR System used in a USDA Agricultural Research Service project. The instrument, acquired in December 2022, requires replacement of its in-line oil filter and manifold fluidics (oil pump) to restore functionality. Bio-Rad Laboratories is identified as the sole manufacturer, and their technical representative will travel to the Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) to perform the repairs within 1-2 days.

The document is associated with a Sources Sought Announcement (Solicitation Number REQ1146239) seeking vendors who can provide service and repair for this specialized scientific instrument. The announcement targets vendors with GSA MAS 334516 Analytical Instruments classification, with responses due by 12:00p ET on 31 March 2025. Interested vendors are requested to submit a 5-page response including business details, contact information, SAM UEI number, business size status, statement of interest, and capability to perform the required service.

Statement of Work – for Bio-Rad Instrument Repair

Background

The QX600 AutoDG Droplet Digital PCR System exclusively manufactured by Bio-Rad Laboratories, is an essential component of our operations, playing a critical role in fulfilling subobjective 2B of In-House

Appropriated Project 8072-42000-093-000-D

Scope

Since its acquisition in December of 2022 this instrument has been maintained according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Despite this, the instrument now requires a replacement pump and manifold to restore its functionality.

Objectives

The QX600 is used to detect various foodborne pathogens via droplet formation. Droplets cannot be formed without a working pump.

Tasks or Requirements:

Bio-Rad Laboratories is the sole manufacturer of this instrument, and the replacement components required for the repair are proprietary to the company. A tech representative will travel to the ERRC and change in-line oil filter and the manifold fluidics (oil pump) that is ineffective.

Delivery:

Bio-Rad will repair the QX600 within 1-2 days.
