About this file

This document is a Requirements Document for the Accelerometer Calibration service needed by the 704th Test Group's 846th Test Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base. The 846th Test Squadron requires the re-calibration of 16 accelerometer sensors (Part Number: 356A26) with a calibration range of 10-5,000Hz and a +/- 5% frequency deviation. The calibration must be traceable to a national metrology institute and meet A2LA accreditation requirements. The Contractor shall complete the initial calibration by December 31, 2024, with two optional calibrations to be exercised by December 31, 2025, if required. The calibrations must be completed within 30 days after notice to proceed. The Contractor shall deliver the calibrated sensors back to the 846th Test Squadron at Holloman AFB. The related federal contract opportunity, Solicitation Number FA9101-24-Q-B056, is issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Test Center for this Accelerometer Calibration requirement.

ACCELEROMETER CALIBRATION

Requirements Document

For

704th Test Group/846th Test Squadron

16 May 2024

1.0 PURPOSE

The 704th Test Group’s (704 TG) mission is to be the premier provider of unique test and evaluation capabilities relevant to tomorrow’s warfighter through world-class people improving technical excellence, cost-effectiveness, and agility. The 846th Test Squadron (846 TS) is one of the units assigned as part of the 704 TG. The 846 TS’s primary test capability is the Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT) where they utilize rocket powered sled trains to simulate flight like environments and scenarios with the control and recovery of a ground based system.

The 846 TS using customer selected sensors to collect data as sleds traverse the HHSTT on a upcoming mission. The squadron does not have the capability to calibrate these sensors up to customers requested 5 kHz range. This sensor is mission critical for the 846 TS mission support. Any lapsed calibrations will negatively impact the ability of the squadron to collect critical data for a upcoming mission.

Note: These sensors are used to record various data on Rocket Sleds for Guidance System Programs.

Unavailability of this vital asset, due to a lapsed calibration, will impact the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Sled Test Project.

This requirement includes one calibration to be completed by 31 Dec 24 and two optional calibrations to be exercised no later than 31 Dec 25 if required. All calibrations must be completed within 30 days after notice to proceed.
